Brief History Of Sifundzani

Sifundzani Primary School opened in January 1981 in temporary accomodation in privately rented homes briefly relocating to a government school in Msunduza before moving to the current location with no chairs nor desks, a few textbooks, many eager pupils, enthusiastic teachers and supportive parents.

In January 1982, the present school with 8 classrooms (one temporary) and a small multi-purpose room was occupied and the school had the basic essentials, such as desks, chairs, etc. Because of the lack of most facilities, a lot of sports were held at other venues; St Marks and the national parks.

On the 16th of February 1982, His Majesty King Sobhuza II at his Diamond Jubilee, named the newly opened school Sifundzani loosely meaning "what are we learning".

With these achievements the many parents, School Committee, Principal and staff continued working at adding more classrooms, libraries, media centre, swimming pool, tennis courts and improving the playing grounds to the current pleasant and child friendly environment it is today.
